Evans Conference Room (WEB 3780)

Welcome to the Evans Conference Room on the third floor of the SCI Institute. This versatile space accommodates up to 50 people seated at tables or 100 with folding chairs, adaptable to both formal and flexible seating arrangements. The Evans Conference Room is equipped for meetings, web seminars, lectures, conferences, and one-one teaching.

Reservation
To reserve the Evans Conference Room, email at least 24 hours in advance. Include your meeting’s date, time, and purpose. Notify us promptly of any changes or cancellations.

Access
The room is accessible from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. For access outside these hours, register your UCard and use the card reader at the entrance.

Technology

  • Projector: Canon short throw, controlled via power switch on left side. Allow 1-2 minutes
    for warm-up.
  • HDMI Cable: Provided for laptop connections.
  • Zoom Room PC: For virtual meetings, with an Owl 360 camera and ceiling speakers integrated for clear audio and video.
  • Notes Viewing: Connect your laptop to the projector for PowerPoint notes, and remember to reconnect the HDMI cable to the Zoom Room PC after your presentation.
  • Echo Issues: Mute your laptop’s microphone and speakers if echo occurs.

Environment

  • Lighting: located near South door.  5 presets (use “Lecture”)
  • Temperature: Controlled via a thermostat near the East side entrance. Changes may take 20-30 minutes to take effect.

Etiquette
Maintain a professional atmosphere by keeping noise levels low and setting cell phones to silent. Light snacks and covered beverages are allowed; please clean up and restore the room to its original state.

Halvorsen Conference Room (WEB 4640)

Located on the fourth floor of WEB, the Halvorsen Conference Room is designed for meetings of up to 10-12 people. It features a large table set up for discussion and collaboration. The breathtaking view of the Salt Lake Valley toward the west can make this room very bright in the afternoons.  The Halvorsen Conference Room is located conveniently next to the Coon Visualization Lab and the Gross Informal Meeting Space. The Halvorsen Conference Room is equipped for meetings, web seminars, lectures, conferences, and one-one teaching.

Reservation
Reserve the Halvorsen Conference Room by emailing at least 24 hours before your meeting, including the date, time, and purpose. Notify us of any changes or cancellations promptly.

Jones Conference Room (WEB 3840)

On the third floor, the Jones Conference Room is ideal for meetings with up to 10-12 people. It
features a large table and comfortable seating for effective discussions. The breathtaking view of
the mountains toward the east can make this room very bright early in the day.  The Jones
Conference Room is located conveniently near the SCI kitchen and provides a very comfortable
gathering area in the luxurious lobby. The Jones Conference Room is equipped for meetings, web
seminars, lectures, conferences, and one-one teaching.

The Frank Conference Room, located on the second floor of WEB, is ideal for small meetings of up to 10 people. It features a compact table and comfortable seating. The Frank Conference Room is equipped for meetings, web seminars, lectures, conferences, and one-one teaching.

Always locked due to its proximity to classroom areas. Access is granted through reservation

The Meldrum Conference Room on the second floor of WEB accommodates up to 16-20 people. It features a large table and comfortable seating for effective communication. The Meldrum Conference Room is equipped for meetings, web seminars, lectures, conferences, and one-one
teaching.
